I love confetti!! I am notorious for putting it in a card to that it falls out all over the floor when the card is opened!
Confetti is fun! I was reading a inspirational book and the author said that "confetti is the tangible expression for intangible emotions." Isn't that so true and such a great definition?!
People throw confetti at a wedding or maybe on New Year's Eve. It's like lavishing love on the people we are throwing it on.
I don't think that I will be able to look at confetti quite the same way after this because it is such a great picture.
As we live one day at a time we need to take the time to throw some "confetti" on our friends and family and those around us. How can we do that? By our words-love and encouragement, praying for them, sending them a card (you can even through some real confetti in there!)
Nicole Johnson has said that "encouragement is to a friendship what confetti is to a party"'.
Encouragement can do so much for someone else. A short note or a phone call to say you were thinking about them. Sending a card with some scripture can lift someone's spirit. We know that words can hurt or they can help. Once they are said they can't be taken back-so we need to be careful in what we say.
Proverbs 25:11
"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver."
"My dear friends, with our tongues we speak both praises and curses. We praise our Lord and Father, and we curse people who were created to be like God, and this isn't right."
It may take practice. Sometimes it is easier to say something negative than to look for the positive or give a compliment. Stop and think before we speak. Practice makes perfect! I have a lot of wonderful friends and I am thankful for each of them. They each have different wonderful gifts and abilities and bring something good and positive to our relationship (or they wouldn't be worth spending time with). So I hope to continue to throw confetti on each of my friends!!
