Sometimes it just feels as if your entire world has been turned upside down! You are at a loss and you don't know what to do next or where to turn. Turn to Christ! He shouldn't be your last resort, He should be your first. But a lot of times, we as humans think that we can handle it ourselves. What happens? We normally don't make it any better and sometimes we only make it worse.
We have been studying Joseph on Sunday evenings at church. If there were ever anyone who's life was turned upside down, it was Joseph. If you want to read an amazing biography then read Genesis chapters 37-50 in the Bible. You will find a young man that had a gift from God, who when he used it was thrown into a pit by his older brothers and sold into slavery. He is put into an amazing position working for Potiphar and overseeing his entire home until his wife propositions him and then accuses him when he turns her down so that he ends up in jail. He is forgotten in jail for awhile but eventually is brought out becomes second in command in Egypt under Pharaoh. He then goes on to saves an entire nation during a famine. He is finally reunited with his family and his response to all of this in his life?
Genesis 50:19-20
"And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive."
We never hear a bad word out of his mouth. He has an exemplary example of how we should be as we go through trials. God will work it out for good for us.
Romans 8:28:
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
While we are allowing God to work in our lives then we need to rest in Him.
Psalm 37:7
"Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass."
How we react to our situation is based on our perspective. If we have God and are submitted to the Spirit of God in our lives then we will have the proper perspective. How are you looking at things? Is it all upside down or are you allowing God to lead you one day at a time and resting in Him to do what is best for you?
1 Peter 1:7
"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: "
