The first day of the week...is always a good day...most of it spent at church.
I spent the afternoon working on the junior-senior banquet invitations and was able to get them done! I won't put a picture up yet until they are given out, but I love how they turned out!
On the first Sunday of the month Pastor and Amy have anyone over who's birthday is that month-guess what???!! It's my birthday month! So, after church tonight we went over for food and a time of fellowship.
This was one of the largest groups we've been to-20 adults and 8 kids (Austin and Bethany-we REALLY missed you)!
Ames always has a great spread-nachos, carrots and celery, Chex mix, strawberries and then ice cream with hot fudge, carmel, and peanuts!
This was my sundae and it was delicious!
After everyone eats we spend a little time listening to the birthday people share blessings of the past year and then 1-2 prayer requests that Pastor and Amy will remember all year. We get to know some people a little better one day at a time and share some blessings and burdens. It was a nice way to start off the week.
It is also just another reminder about how to praise the Lord for the life that He has given us.
Psalm 16:11
"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Psalm 100:1-5
"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations."
