Today I went with my daughter to the Florida Blood Services to give blood. Our body is an amazing thing and God has allowed it to work with blood flowing through our veins. Our bodies allow us to be able to replenish itself so that we can have blood taken out and donate it so that it can be used in hospitals. Your donation may save someone else's life.
As we live one day at a time there is opportunity for us to help others by being willing to donate blood. It is a relatively painless procedure (the finger prick to check your iron is worse than the need to draw blood) and takes less than 30 minutes out of your day. You are able to donate every 8 weeks and the service always have some freebies to reward you for coming and donating.
Doesn't it remind you of another gift of life? Christ gave His blood on Calvary so that we can have the gift of eternal life. The wonderful thing is that He only had to give it once-the ultimate sacrifice-and it can save anyone and everyone that accepts it.
Ephesians 1:7
"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"
Hebrews 9:22
"And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission."
We can share that gift with all of those around us. God gave us His Word-the Bible-and it clearly lays out the plan of salvation. We are told about how Christ came to earth and lived here and ministered. He then willingly gave His life so that we can have eternal life. We would not have been able to receive this gift if there had not been the precious shedding of Christ's blood. Christ's blood was the only thing that satisfied God the Father's requirement. If we confess our sins, repent, and turn away from them then they are covered under the blood and our relationship with God is restored.
Christ has given us the ultimate gift of life-have you accepted it?
♪♫ "There is a Fountain"
"There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.
Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains. " AMEN!
