A GetAway

It's nice when your husband says that he thinks that it is time for a family getaway. We talked as a family and chose a location and then the plans all fell together pretty quickly. Once you leave your home and head for your destination you can feel the tension roll off of your shoulders and all of the responsibilities fade away! It's good to occasionally get away so that you can enjoy time with your loved ones-where your focus isn't divided by obligations and responsibilities. You normally find that when it is just the 2 or 4 or 6 of you, you converse more, laugh more, and spend more time together.
The definition for a getaway is something used for a means of escape, or occasional retreat or reclusion.
Jesus even found that occasionally he needed a getaway.
Mark 6:45-46
"And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray."

Matthew 14:23
"And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone."
Jesus was busy and doing the business that His Father had sent Him to do, yet there were times that He was tired and just needed to recharge and get away. He spent time with the disciples-I'm sure there were some good meals and lots of conversation and a great time of prayer. There are a few different passages that talk about how Jesus would get away and pray. Sometime you may have a big decision that needs to be made and the time away to be in God's Word and pray can be just what you need. It can allow you to focus on all aspects and be able to just be quiet and let God talk to you and help you make the right decision.
We live one day at a time and most of that time it is at a fast pace and occasionally it is nice to get away. Enjoy the time and the people you are with and spend some of that time just talking with the Lord and allowing Him to guide you.
