Food For Thought

Yesterday I went to lunch with one of my "sisters". What do you look for when you pick a restaurant? I look at the menu options-are there items on the menu that you would really like to eat? I look at the location-is it conducive for why you are going-if you are going to talk with someone you want the atmosphere to be appropriate so that you don't have to yell at each other across the table. Price comes into the equation as well-you don't want anyone to be uncomfortable if they can't afford to eat at the place you have picked.
There are times that we put a lot of time and effort into where or what we are going to eat. Do we put as much time and effort into what we put in our minds?
Proverbs 23:7
"As a man thinketh; so is he."
The world bombards us from all angles-we are constantly having images and sounds put in front of us. How much do we let it influence us? It will influence us one way or another. What we put into our minds will come out in our lives-in our words and thoughts and actions.
As we live one day at a time, we have leverage on our side-God left us the Holy Spirit to be with us at all times. He also gave us His Word. Everything that we need to know on how to live the Christian life is in God's Word. In order for it to have any impact on your life you have to use it-you must take the time to read it and meditate on it and then live it in your life. God's Words will lead and direct us if we allow them.
John 6:35
Christ told us that He is the bread of life and all who come to Him will not hunger or thirst.
We also learn that we have to be diligent and consistent in order to grow spiritually. Read it and allow God to use it to be food for thought in your life.
Hebrews 5:13-14
"For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."
