We threw a party tonight. There was food, games, and fellowship. We had hersHEy bars, small cakes made out of diapers, a bottle filled with ? gummies (125 was the answer), jungle coloring sheets, and other fun items. Do you see the theme? It was a baby shower given for one of the ladies in our church. She is having a little boy-Lucas will be his name. We carried the theme through the whole party-the decorations, games, and devotional.
The definition for the word theme used as a verb is to give a particular setting or ambiance to an activity.
I love to plan parties or teas or gifts with a theme. If you carry it out correctly then people will be able to easily see what the theme is from the components that you use.
God has a theme. He gave us His Word to be able to read and live one day at a time. The common thread throughout the Bible is Love. God created man and woman and loved them enough to place them in a garden that had everything they could possibly want or need.
Genesis 2:8-9
"The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food."
When the world became so evil that He decided to destroy it He loved man enough to allow them the chance to be saved with Noah on the ark.
Genesis 7:1
" Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation."
He loved us enough to send Christ to earth to live as a man, minister, and ultimately died on the cross-covering all of our sins and conquering death.
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
Love that is available to everyone. Love that accept you no matter who you are or what you have done. Love that will change you. Have you chosen His love? Acknowledge you sin, repent and ask for forgiveness. His love can change your life-do you see the theme?
