The eyes are a wonderful part of our bodies. It is amazing how God allows us to see things-colors and shapes. A lot of people think that today's blog title comes from the Bible but it isn't found there.
It actually is a Yiddish Proverb.
There is a verse though that does tell us that the "eye is the lamp of the body" (Matthew 6:22)
I took these pictures a few years ago but they were the ones that came to my mind today when I thought about what I wanted to write.
You can look at a person and tell a lot of things by their eyes. You can see joy and laughter and you can see fear and pain. How a person feels can be seen in their eyes. God gave us the use of tears which come from our eyes. There are happy tears that are shed over occasions like a wedding or new baby or when someone receives Christ as their personal Savior. There are sad tears such as when a loved one dies or when you hurt yourself physically or when someone strays away from God.
What can be said by looking into your eyes? Does the love of Christ shine through you one day at a time? Or are you empty and alone trying to get through life depending only on yourself? You can make a choice on what people see when they look into your eyes. I want them to see the love and joy of Christ through me and compassion for those around me.
