A couple of weeks ago we started hearing a "sound" while driving our car. We weren't sure what it could be..it didn't feel different but it sounded like it wasn't in gear. My wonderfully mechanically gifted hubby looked at some different things and discovered that it was our right wheel bearing. I am not extremely knowledgeable in cars but I did do a little research and know that it is an important part of the suspension in the car. It allows the wheels to move freely. The brakes are attached to it. This is not a part that you want to have fail while you are driving down the road.
God was good and protected me while driving to and from work today. As we speak, my hubby is outside in the heat fixing the problem. (Isn't he wonderful?!)
When something goes wrong you have to acknowledge that there is a problem, find the problem, and then fix it. In fixing it you have to have the knowledge of the item you are working on and have the proper tools to fix it. We could have ignored it and continued to drive the car as it was and eventually we would have had a problem and most likely had an accident. This is the same as with sin in our lives.
We are all sinners and we have to acknowledge it. If we choose to ignore it and continue to live our lives one day at a time in sin, eventually our sin will cause problems and show through in our lives. Once we acknowledge sin and confess it and repent, we need to turn away from it. God has given us tools to use in living our lives striving to be more like Christ. We have the Bible and the Holy Spirit, who dwells inside us from the time of salvation. Being able to be in the Word, praying, a fundamental church, and other believers to fellowship with are wonderful tools.
Psalm 119:105- Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Ephesians 4:11-16
11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Philippians 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Be wise-use the tools that we have been given. It won't give us a problem free life but it will help us handle the crisis wisely.
OK-I'm off to see how our car repair is coming and if I can help!
