Blocks are always fun to play with when you are a child. (They can be fun to build with sometimes when you are an adult as well.) Kids think it is fun to build tall towers and then it can be as much fun to knock them down. The towers are more solid when the large blocks are on the bottom and the smaller ones are at the top. As we live one day at a time we are building our lives on a foundation. What is your foundation? The best foundation that you can have to build your life on is Christ. He is stable and secure. When you build your life on Him, you will find that if you keep Him as your foundation He can keep you "tall, stable, and strong".
Isaiah 28:16
"Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste."
Christ is not only our foundation-He has always "been" before even the foundation on the earth. He is and was and always will be. How much more assurance do we need to have to know that He wants only the best for us?
"Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world."
Thankfully, even if we have lived our lives for ourselves in the past and it seems as though everything has tumbled down around us, Christ can help us rebuild. It's wonderful to know that even when we sin and make mistakes, we can ask for forgiveness and it is covered under the blood.
Psalm 32:1
"Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered."
What a wonderful promise to have as a Child of God.
Be in His Word and spend time alone with God so that you can learn what is right and be able to continue to build a life that is secure and strong and stable in Christ.
