A, B, C, D, E, F, G...

What would we do without language or the written word? From the time we are born, we are learning how to talk. We learn our ABC's first and when we are old enough to hold a crayon we start to learn our letters so that we can spell...our names!
I loved teaching little ones this version of the ABC song:
"A-B-C-D-E-F-G,
Jesus died for you and me
H-I-J-K-L-M-N,
Jesus died for sinful men, AMEN!
O-P-Q-R-S-T-U,
I believe God’s word is true,
V-W,
God has promised you
X-Y-Z,
A home eternally."

It's wonderful to be able to talk to your loved ones-face-to-face or by phone or computer. If you are unable to speak to them then technology allows us to snail mail, email, or text. I am especially thankful for these conveniences since we took our daughter to college and dropped her off. It is her sophomore year and we are so proud of her. She is in the nursing program at a great school, but she is eight hours away from home. She doesn't get to come home every weekend. She calls me each morning on her way from chapel to class and we catch up. We text a lot and I love to send her little notes and packages.
When you love someone you want to be in contact with them. You love to talk to them. You can't wait to read their letters.
I think that this was how it was with Paul and the Christians that he was able to minister to around Asia Minor. We are blessed to have a complete love letter from God to us in the form of our Bibles. Sixty-six books or letters written full of history and guidance for us. Some of the letter are authored by Paul. Paul writes admonishments, instructions, guidance, and greetings to those he met and mentored and worshiped with at some time.
Ephesians 1:16
"Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;"
Philippians 1:4
"Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,"
I believe that if you really care  for someone then you will strive to keep in touch with them. You want to hear how they are doing and be able to encourage them. This is how Paul was with those he wrote to in his epistles. He kept in touch and when he couldn't visit he would send letters.
As we live one day at a time we need to be sure to let those around us that we care-not only for their physical well-being but also their spiritual condition. Share your testimony with them and be sure to share the love of Christ. Giving them a copy of God's love letter so that they can read it and know that someone cares for them more than anyone here on earth ever could. He loved them so much so that He gave His only Son to die on the cross for their sins. All they have to do is repent and accept the gift of salvation. Then they will "B" saved!
