Today I have no trouble coming up with my blog...we were blessed to attend Rebekah Mitchell and Bryan Christopher's wedding. Today was the day they chose to confess they love for each other in an outdoor country location of Myakka State Park, under the trees. They exchanged vows and after combining sand in a vase and exchanging rings and a kiss they are now Husband & Wife!
On their invitation, their program, the park admittance ticket, and even on their cake they had their theme
Love Never Fails!
It comes from a Bible passage- I Corinthians 13-the official Love chapter.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profits me nothing.
Charity suffers long, and is kind; charity envies not; charity vaunts not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
And now abides faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity."
As we live one day at a time, we learn to love those that are in our lives, our parents, our spouses, our children, our church. But earthly love is sometimes based on feelings and feelings can come and go. We must make a choice and then live that choice-choose to love our spouses and continue to work on that relationship all of the time. Christ shared the ultimate love by giving His only Son to die on the cross and take our sins so that we can have eternal life with Him by accepting the gift of salvation.
A wedding is romantic and I think everyone that is married should occasionally go to one to remember what it was like when they got married-remember the vows that they took-vows that are not to be said lightly. Marriage is for life-one man and woman-it is not always easy but God never promised it would be easy, but it is worth it.
Genesis 2:21-24
"So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."
Congratulations Bryan and Rebekah~We will be praying God's blessing on your marriage and new life together.
