Happy Birthday to you...and many more!

Tonight we celebrated my mother-in-law's 79th birthday. We enjoyed dinner and dessert together while we were able to talk and reminiscence about years gone by. I think that as we get older and realize there are more years behind us than in front of us we become more reflective. I am so thankful that as I age one day at a time I can rest in the assurance of my salvation and know that when my years on earth are over, I will spend eternity praising and worshiping my Lord-can you say the same? Our pastor is known for always saying, "I don't know one person who has said after they got saved, I wish I would have waited longer. No, they always say, I wish I would have done this sooner."
Proverbs 3:1-8
"My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones."

If you are reading this and you have not accepted Christ as your personal Savior-what are you waiting for? Acknowledge you are a sinner-ask for forgiveness from God-repent and accept His gift of salvation. You then will be able to celebrate not only one birthday-your physical birthday-but a second birthday-your spiritual birthday.
John 3:3-8
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
The wind blows where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."
Happy Birthday Mom-we love you and are thankful for you.
