Hard Work

The landscaping around our house was beginning to resemble a jungle so our son started the big job of cutting and trimming, and raking, and bagging. It took him 2 afternoons after school, but he did a thorough job with beautiful results. He even went beyond what we had asked and pulled all the weeds behind the shrubs and bagged up the old leaves too. When he wants to, he puts his mind to it, he does a fabulous job!
Of course, he still had fun snapping pictures along the way. When you take pride in your job and give 110 percent it shows to those around you and the results look good.
Isn't this how we should all live one day at a time? Christians that give 110 percent in every responsibility or job given. We should show pride in the jobs that we have been given-always striving to do the best.
Colossians 3:23-24 esv
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."
Our goal is to please the Lord and all of our work should be done with Christ in mind.
Colossians 3:17
"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
2 Timothy 2:15
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."
We aren't perfect and won't ever be as long as we are on earth and we may struggle in some things, but we shouldn't give any less than our best-it's all He asks of us. But remember, we don't have to do it in our own strength or on our own-He is ALWAYS with us to help us.
Exodus 15:2
"The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him."
Isaiah 40:28-31
"Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint."
