In a Fog

This isn't the best picture but it shows that I was driving in quite a fog this morning. When you are in a fog, you can't see very far in front or behind you-you rely on what you know and if you are familiar with where you are you remember what is there and work around it. Sometimes, you continue on, carefully, having faith that you can get through it and arrive at your destination safely.
As we are living one day at a time we sometimes live like we are in a fog. We wander around not being able to see very far in front or behind us-feeling all alone. Do you know that although you may feel you are in a fog you don't have to live that way. We have access to the one true Light. The Bible shows that God was always with the Israelites as they wandered in the wilderness-literally as a pillar and a light.
Exodus 13:21
" And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night."
He has promised that He will always be with us as well. And if we follow Him we can walk in the light as well.
John 8:12
"Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Satan wants us to feel powerless, to wallow in self pity, and continue self-destructive behaviors. We don't have live our lives that way. God is the God of second chances. He loves us and wants only the best for us. If we allow Him to be the Lord of our life and we accept His gift of salvation then we have eternal life and we should be joyful-like a fountain "springing up" or bubbling over.
John 4:14
"but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
Come out of the fog---Follow after Christ-He is the true Light.
