If I showed you this picture and asked you what story in the Bible it made you think of what would you say? Would you go to Luke 15:8-10-
“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
God's Word is a wonderful book with so many truths printed in which we can use as we live our lives one day at a time. Jesus used parables during His ministry when he wanted to make a certain point.
In this parable and the one of the lost sheep Christ made it clear that everyone soul is important. Do you agree? You come in contact with a lot of people throughout your week-are they important? Do you look at them as just a number or are they an individual who's soul will one day be in heaven or hell? I am guilty of being so busy that I don't take the time to be concerned. We should try to look at each situation as an opportunity from God to touch another life. God puts people in our paths for a reason. Are you reaching out and investing in the story or just "skimming the pages".
Take some time to look into God's Word at the different parables and look at the truths that He was stating to his disciples and us. (Some examples: the Wise man and the Foolish man-Matthew 7:24-27; the Sower & the seeds-Matthew 13; the Talents-Luke 19:12-27; and the Prodigal Son-Luke 15:11-32 are just a few that are really good.)
