Night in Lights

Across the road from our home is an entrance to another neighborhood that decorates for Christmas. The trees and building are beautifully lit and shine quite brightly every night. Tonight the sight was even more beautiful with the moon right over the trees. My picture doe not do it justice in capturing it. Lights are frequently used as great object lessons.
As a Christians, as we live one day at a time we constantly deal with light vs. darkness. Our human nature is more comfortable in the darkness. Yet once we turn our lives over to Christ and allow Him to be in control we should live in the light.
Ephesians 5:8-14
"for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true),  and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.  Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.  For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.  But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,  for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,
“Awake, O sleeper,
    and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
When you are in the dark you cannot see where you are going. Yet, light takes away the darkness.
Isaiah 42:16
"I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them."
Psalm 18:28
"You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light."
John 3:19-21
"And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.  For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.  But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
We need to be willing to shine for Christ. When we shine then those that come in contact with us will see something different. We should be the ones to point them to Christ. Share the gospel and the love of God so that those we know and love will also receive the gift of eternal life so that we will be together for eternity rejoicing and worshiping Him-the one true Light!
Revelation 22:5
"There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign forever and ever."
