How we act and react tell people a lot about us. They may be able to see whether or not we are adventurous and open to trying something or meeting someone new. Our actions, but more likely our reactions, show our true personalities. When we are thrown into certain situations our "true colors" normally rise to the top (or we find out what we are really made of when we are put in "hot water"-like this poem about teas.
If you were a teabag…
Would a Peach describe you
Or are you healing like Peppermint
And a Tension Tamer, too
If you were a teabag…
Would you be Rose Hips
Or would Constant Comment
Be found on your likes
If you were a teabag…
Would you run for the Clover
Or would you invite Earl Grey
To bring his Lady right over
If you were a teabag…
Would English Breakfast fill your cup
Or would a sip of Morning Thunder
Be all it took to wake you up
If you were a teabag…
Would earthy Oolong be your thing
Or are you sassy as Sassafras
Instead of Darjeeling
If you were a teabag…
Would you be Green and nice
Or would you be a Lemon
Mixed in with Orange Spice
If you were a teabag…
One thing is for sure
I know the cup you would be in
Would be rich, fine, and pure
For all of us are like teabags
Left simmering in a teapot
We just don’t know our strength
‘til the water gets hot.
Everyone is different. There aren't two people that are alike. God made us in His image and everyone is unique. But as we live one day at a time here on earth we are still living in a world that isn't perfect so we won't be perfect either. This means that there will be aspects in our lives that we may struggle with in respects to other people. We won't always agree with everyone or love every situation we may be placed in but it doesn't have to cause us to be angry or nasty or bitter. If we let those type of emotions take root then it will change our entire life and our outlook.
We are to have the fruits of the Spirit in our lives and then they will come out in our actions.
Galatians 5:22-23
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."
Ephesians 4:31-32
"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."
I want to be known as someone who is sweet and loving and willing to help, not the sourpuss sitting in the corner glaring at everyone who walks by!
I want this to be said of me (I may be a Buckeye by birth but I'm a Floridian by transplant and I love the southern sunshine!)
