The Lesson Learned Through an Egg

This object lesson is not original by me but when I read it I thought I would paraphrase it, add my own twist to it, add some scripture, and share it in here.
I love object lessons. I believe when you share an object lesson it doesn't matter what age you are, you can understand it and apply it to some level in your own life. This lesson is applicable to both children and adults.
Take a raw egg and look at it. From the outside it looks smooth, good, and solid. When we choose to live our life in our own power then we may think that we can handle whatever comes our way.
(Crack the egg)
But we can 'break' pretty easily from difficult circumstances that may come into our lives. When we become saved, Christ becomes our strong tower and strength.
Psalm 61:3
"for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy."
But, even though Christ is always with us and gives us strength to live one day at a time, there will trials that come into our lives-God may bring 'a little heat'.
(Heat up a skillet and put the egg in it)
What happens to the egg when it is put under heat? It changes. When the egg starts off-it's clear and runny-not much there-like our life before Christ. As it heats up it starts to change color-as we let God work in our life He will give us sustenance and color so that we can be used by Him.
Psalm 46:1-3
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."
(The egg is now sunny-side up)
As we look at the egg the yolk is in the middle. This is how Christ should be in our life. He should be the center of our life. It also is an example that we should be 'sunny' or have the joy of the Lord in our life-no matter what.
Nehemiah 8:10 b
"for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Now it is fully cooked. The heat has made us strong. We can now go and serve God with our lives.
Are you more like the raw egg or have you been 'fully cooked'?!
