"The Money Tree"

Tonight I had to stop and pull out our cash allocated for the next 2 weeks and it reminded me of a story.
When J.W. was little we learned a valuable lesson on how your children are watching you and what their take is on things. I remember J.W. asking for something-it might have been a toy or if we could go out to dinner-I'm not sure-but we told him that we couldn't because we didn't have the money to do that at the time. He told us that it wouldn't be a problem just go to that machine and get some money out! His perception was that the box held unlimited funds and we could get some at anytime. We all dream of having a money tree in our backyard or we joke to our teenagers that maybe they should go and pull some cash off the "money tree". But for a little child it is a much different outlook. We realized that we needed to be sure that our children understood the value of money and how we must work for what we earn and how to tithe and save and then spend One Day at a Time!
