Annual Ladies' Tea

Those of you that know me, are you really surprised that my blog would be about the Tea?! :)
It has been in the planning stage for the past year and all the details came together in the final product today!
My speaker and childhood friend, Shawn arrived into PIE last night and I picked her up. We talked non-stop for the next 2 1/2 hours-like we had just seen each other last week-no time had passed between us-I love that!! This morning we got up and got ready and arrived at the church bright and early. That's when things began not going as planned.
I had made the cupcakes and a wonderful homemade frosting that I had all prepared to pipe onto the cupcakes but...it would not come out like it was supposed to and then the bag split in 3 spots and it became a huge mess. So, we started to frost them the old fashioned way (not my plan but it would have to do).

Then 25 minutes before we started we realized that Shawn left all of her visuals and illustrations at our house! She ended up changing a large part of her challenge and yet the Lord was in it all and used what she had to say!
I am so thankful that even the best laid plans may not go as planned and yet if you have committed it all to the Lord, He can still use it to His glory. We both could have been upset and worried about it and had a real damper put on our day, but we refused to let our joy be squelched.

It was a fun day where Christ was shared, new friendships were formed, old friendships enjoyed, wonderful food eaten and a short time where we could enjoy a little bit of elegance as ladies together one day at a time.

There is such joy in living the Christian life Shawn's challenge was so appropriate for us in the church today-we need to be different and not ashamed to share the true gospel-pure religion, undefiled.
Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
