I discovered this "compass" in the sidewalk in Chicago. It really can come in handy when you are touring the town and wondering which direction you are headed. It can save you time so that you know you are headed in the correct direction so that you can reach your destination. Have you ever been lost? Have you ever wondered if you can get to your destination by a different route? We have maps and G.P.S. and compasses that help us get from one place to another. I think it is wonderful to have helps for traveling.
I know of a much better "map" that is extremely helpful in my life so that I can be sure of heading in the "right direction". I am so thankful for God's Word-the Bible-that I can read anytime I need direction.
Proverbs 3:5-6:
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
If we are willing to read His Word and listen to what God has to say we will strive to be more like Christ.
Psalm 16:11
"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
Before we are saved we walk in darkness and only are concerned about ourselves.
We are told that after we are saved we should no longer walk in darkness but in the light, because Christ is the true light.
1 John 1:5-6
"This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:"
As we live one day at a time, we need to be in God's Word consistently, learning all that we can so that we know in which direction we need to be headed. Maps are written by man and are not infallible. There are times that a G.P.S. will not get you to your destination. But you can rest assured that God will NEVER mislead you or get you lost.
